Christmas is round the corner and India being a country with multicultural diversity, we have more than 30 public holidays every year for different festivals. Loads of reasons to spread love and happiness, eh! Christmas is one of my favorite festivals of the year. It’s all about presents, cakes, cookies and the most important thing of all – LOVE.
People who died in 26/11 attacks in India or victims of Orlando club shootings messaged/call their closed ones before they were shot dead, out of love and affection. Last moments of their lives to be spent with the ones closest to them. May the souls of all the victims rest in peace.
Love is everywhere.
Not too dignified or mentioned everywhere but it is everywhere. Its a very strong feeling, it binds us together and it keeps us going and growing in life. It reminds me that humanity is still alive somewhere deep down amongst people and this broken world can heal, become a better place to live in spite of the great internal war of politics, religion, racism, hatred and terrorism. I hope that people still have the feeling of love within their hearts but they are afraid to show that side to the world.
This Christmas, go out, spread happiness, help people, tell that girl about how much you like her since a year now and you’d love to go out with her or take a cab initiate a conversation with the driver, ask him to keep the change and witness the expression of gratitude on his face. It will make you feel so good and so happy! Here, meet Inayat Bhai 🙂
Help people around you, pick up the phone – call a friend who you haven’t spoken to in years, buy presents, prepare a delicious meal and have it with your loved ones – husband & wife OR old friends OR girlfriend & boyfriend OR mother & son OR father & daughter OR maybe with a stranger. Remind yourself of this feeling – LOVE and have the happiest time of your life. Create memories and experiences which should never be forgotten, ever!
If all this sounds like sugarcoated bullshit to you then I feel really sorry for you and I pray that SOMEDAY you get to experience this emotion at least once in your life. As Albus Dumbledore says “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Do share your experiences with me, I’d love to read about it and talk to you. Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🙂
