India has its fair share in the global electronic dance music scene. Due to which PBCLs (Pubs, Bars, Cafes & Lounges) establishment is growing in the country with international acts coming down almost on every weekend in some city or the other to sway the crowds on their thumping tunes. At the same time, Indian acts are also growing and establishing their music, globally.
India has over 6200 licensed bar premises. The nightlife industry in India is also known as PBCLs (Pubs, Bars, Cafes & Lounges) which contributes over Rs. 11,500 crores to the Indian economy and is providing employment to over 20 lakh people.
After studying the figures mentioned in various articles by renowned publications like TOI, Economic Times, etc. I feel if the rules are tweaked or slightly revised in favor of PBCLs, it can increase the employment opportunities and also contribute more to the Indian Economy as it is already growing with a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 10% by 2021.
Why revision of the laws?
I am no expert in making or studying laws but I may come down to a conclusion with the help of some verified information/facts available on the internet.
- The operational time of any such establishment can be extended.
- Taxation (expenditure, service tax, etc.) for such places can be revised and if possible toned down.
